Dr Briones Veterinarian – Animal Medical Center Kansas City

About
Dr Briones Veterinarian, my dad took me on several bike rides and hikes. During these adventures, he taught me all about the trees, the plants, and of course, the critters. Consequently, I was fascinated with capturing every toad, insect, baby bunny, etc. & caring for that creature as if it were my own. This quickly developed into an obsession with all animals. Seeing as I crawled around and pretended to be a wolf, lion, dog, or cat well into my childhood, I always knew I wanted to be involved in caring for animals. Inevitably, veterinary medicine always seemed like the right fit.

Now that dream has finally become a reality! Growing up in the Kansas City area, I attended Rockhurst University and received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology in May 2017. I then attended the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May 2021. My veterinary interests include internal medicine, oncology, and promoting the human-animal bond. Currently, I have one cat, Sequoia, who is the most perfect cat I have ever met, and one dog, Mila, who captured my heart after being in the clinic as a stray only weeks after I started at AMC. Shortly after her arrival, I adopted sweet Mila as my own. If you want to hear about and see photos of them, I will gladly do so.

Outside of veterinary medicine, my faith is very important to me. My husband and I enjoy getting to serve and invest in the community at our church. In addition, I still enjoy spending time outdoors – whether that be gardening, hiking, or biking. Together my husband and I adore trying all the best restaurants and exploring around the city or just making a fancy meal at home.
